On April 29, Dr. Geoff Foy, the vice provost of Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) and Hiro Kuroiwa Lewis, the director of International Admission of Pacific Lutheran University visited Chengdu Normal University (CNU). This is the third time that Pacific Lutheran 

University sent delegates to CNU since the two universities established friendly relationship. Chen Yiping, the director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Qiu Xing, the head of School of Education, Jiang Feng, the CPC Secretary of School of Foreign 

Languages welcomed the honorable guests from PLU.

In the meeting, the two universities had a further discussion in terms of student and staff exchange based on the framework agreement that was signed in the past. The two universities had an agreement on the diploma to bachelor program, the student 

exchange program, language proficiency approving, and scholarship. CNU and PLU will cooperate on the Master of Arts Education program which will offer both certificate and job opportunity to qualified graduate students. Also, PLU will offer staffs 

exchanged from CNU office and apartment in PLU’s campus. 

Later in August of this year, Professor Vidya Thirumurthy from the School of Education from PLU will visit CNU with 7 or 8 students. They will have interaction with teachers and students of CNU.According to this fruitful meeting, the two 

universities strengthened their friendship and will have more cooperation on joint programs.
