Orientation for Grade 2020 International Students Launched by the School of International Education

From October 13th to 15th, the School ofInternational Education arranged orientation for Grade 2020 international students. After the grand opening ceremony for all 2020 freshmen of Chengdu NormalUniversity, international freshmen have taken an in-depth campus tour under theguidance of teachers, and taken various lectures in themes of public safety, health and disease prevention, and academic and career planning.


On the 13th of October, at the opening ceremony, President Du of Chengdu Normal University introduced the educationgoals of our university and gave students important advice about how to spendtime at university in a meaningful. Students have been deeply inspired and full of expectations for the university life. In the afternoon, teachers at the Schoolof International Education have introduced the school regulations and studentmanagement procedures to the freshmen. Special emphasis was placed on the precautionary measures for COVID-19, including the use of heath applications on mobile phoneand leave-application procedures for students.


In the morning of the 14th October,teachers of Chengdu Normal University introduced the international students the teaching goals and plans of bachelor-degree education, and then took them on anin-depth tour of the campus, visiting the teaching buildings, library, university history museum, canteen, gymnasium, sports field, medical office and other facilities.


In the afternoon, the staff of EpidemicPrevention Office of Wenjiang District and medical staff of the university clinic gave lectures on the prevention and control of infectious disease, such asCOVID-19, AIDS, and TB.  


In the afternoon of the 15th October,police officers from the Police Station of Wenjiang District gave a lecture on the law of Republic of China and public safety knowledge for internationalstudents. Then teachers of the Security Department of CDNU gave international students safety advice in nine aspects: public health, military security,network security, foreign-related security, technological security, culturalsecurity, social security, financial security, and school security.


The international students said that orientation activities are rich in content, diverse in forms, well-targeted and instructive. Through the orientation, international students have enrichedtheir knowledge of China, enhanced their sense of belonging, and have been full of expectations for the upcoming life at Chengdu .
