The Department of Chinese Language and Literature has been established for 30 years. The undergraduate has a well-structured and qualified teaching team with a strong sense of responsibility, high academic level and rich teaching experience. Among them there are 8 professors and 14 associate professors. Here brought together many talents, such as the national outstanding scholar DengXian, who is also a famous writer in the country, and a provincial excellent scholar professor ZhuGuangBao. Ding Ruigeng, the dean of the department, is playing an important role in education by applying a special calligraphy of teaching calligraphy of teaching model students from normal university. In addition, our department has 6 monographs that have been selected as college textbooks, and has undertaken a number of provincial level research projects.

In recent years, the major of journalism of the department has developed fast. It has abundantly qualified teachers, and owns 10 teaching photography. Moreover, it has built 30 node Apple non-linear editing lab and quasi professional studio laboratories. Therefore, the first-class hardware facilities can fully meet the practical needs of teaching and students'.  Students practicing in order to learn can make them become experts in one field while possessing all-round knowledge and ability. Employment prospects are very optimistic.

The department offers an undergraducate programme in the field of Chinese Language and Literature. The main courses of it are : History of ancient Chinese Literature, History of modern Chinese Literature, Chinese Contemporary Literature, Basic writing, Introduction to literature, Ancient Chinese, Modern Chinese, Foreign literature, Ancient Chinese Literary Theory, Western Literary Theory, Education, Educational psychology, Chinese language teaching and the new curriculum standard research, Mandarin, Logic, etc.

The department also offers a Junior College programme (3 year) in the field of News Collecting-editing and Making and the main course of it are: Introduction to journalism, Radio and foundation, the photography foundation, TV foundation study, TV journalism, Communication, TV photography theory, Television review, Interview study, News writing, Radio and television program production,  Practical aesthetics, etc.
