The School of Physics and EngineeringTechnology took 9 years to prepare for and was finally established in 1989. Itwas renamed the Department of Physics and Electronic Technology in 2008. Basedupon the emphasis of teaching and quality, the department focuses on theenhancement of teaching conditions and professional levels. Meanwhile, it alsopromotes the coordinated development of talent cultivation, scientific researchand societal service. The department has set up the specialized training systemof “professional virtue, quality education and skill-training”. At present, thedepartment has total 2,612 undergraduates and 3,548 college graduates.

The Department has majors of PhysicalEducation and Applied Electronic Technology in the Junior College Program (3year). For adult education, there are the majors of Electronic &Information Engineering and Operation & Service in Mobile Communication inthe Junior College Program (2 year), and Physics and Electronic &Information Engineering in the Senior College Program (2 year). There are 300full-time students studying in this department.

The department has 17 professionalteachers, of whom 2 are professors, 7 associate professors and 8 lecturers.Among them 2 teachers have Doctorate’s degrees and 8 teachers have Master’sdegrees. In recent years, teachers in the department have published more than100 papers in different kinds of journals, 17 of them have been included inSCI, EI and ISTP, and over 10 monographs have been published. In addition, thedepartment has undertaken more than 10 research projects which were givenprovincial and national awards. Besides, it has obtained two national patentsand two new practical patents as well.

In the department, comprehensive academicexchanges and talent cultivating relationships have been established with anumber of universities within and outside the province. The department alsosends teachers to attend different academic conferences, to do cooperativeresearches and to have advanced study there. Moreover, it has built a close andfriendly relationship with a large number of research organizations andcompanies to establish 5 training bases for production practice and 10educational training bases.
