Since the School of Fine Arts wasestablished in 1985, it has always focused on the highest standards ofeducation as well as the highest quality of teachers.Among the teachers whoenjoy the reputation of master teacher in Sichuan and the whole country are CuiYan, Huang Chunyao, Wu Xujing, Ba iRui, Xiao Jidong, Ceng Fansen, HuangTongjiang, and Li Zongle. At the same time, teachers who enjoy the highreputation in Sichuan are ZhaoYunyu, Wu Yifeng, Luo Jixin, Shao Zhongjie, ShangRongxin, Liu Yuquan, Peng Xiancheng, Yu Tao, and Wu Weili. Some artists fromvarious universities such as professor SuBao, Professor Li Wei, professor FengDean, professor Yin Qiong work in the department as visiting professors.Theabove mentioned experts and professors have laid a solid foundation for thedevelopment of the department, leaving a legacy of a rich educational andcreative experience. With their help, young and middle-aged teachers ZouYanhong, Zhong Gang, Han Anrong, Wang Xu, Cao Yang, Lv Xiaojing, Pu Yi, LinHai, Xu Lou, Ran Jian, Lin Jie grow up and become backbones in the professionalteaching. Simultaneously, through the introduction, recruitment and training, agroup of young teachers who have master's degrees have joined the department,forming a desirable teaching team. Teachers exhibit their good qualitiesthrough their teaching experience, their love and their dedication.

There are 35 full-time teachers, among themfour are professors, and seven are associate professors. One teacher is rankedas a national level artist, one is named as an expert who enjoys the StateCouncil Special Allowance, and one is the provincial level expert who has theoutstanding contributions in art teaching.

The Department of Fine Art set arteducation for adult (senior level, 2 year) in 1997 and Junior College Programme(3 year) in 2002. From 2002 to 2010, the department cooperated with SichuanNormal University, Leshan Normal College, and Xihua Normal University jointly,holding undergraduate programme for five consecutive years.

The department offers undergraduateprogramme in fine art, and in Juior College (3 year) Programme in the areas of arteducation, environmental art design, animation design and manufacturespecialized subject: For adult education, the department offers undergraduateprogramme in fine arts and art design, Juior College Programme (3 year) inenvironmental art design and decoration art design; Meanwhile, Chengdu NormalUniversity hosts the examination in art education and environmental art designfor Self-study Examination of Undergraduate Programme, thus it has set up twoundergraduate programmes in fine arts and environmental art design.

Many fine art works created by the teachershave been collected by international Olympic committee, the Chinese Olympiccommittee and the China art museum.The teachers of the department have theirpersonal exhibition about their fine works in China fine art galleries, France,Australia, the United States, Britain, Germany, Belgium, Japan, India, Taiwan,and Hong Kong. In addition，the department is active exchange both in domestic and internationalcolleges, universities and artists, and has invited many famous painters andscholars to give lectures. Teachers and students in the department holdexhibitions for their fine works exhibitions regularly.
